Drive Electric Maine Chapters

Drive Electric Maine (DEM) Chapters are regional networks of plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) drivers, advocates, and other partners working together to expand the use of EVs in their community.
These chapters meet regularly to share experiences, support local EV initiatives, and educate community members about the benefits of electric vehicles. Through local outreach and peer-to-peer engagement, chapter members share information and resources about EV ownership, charging, incentives, and the transition to cleaner transportation.

Drive Electric Maine currently includes two active chapters: Greater Portland and Western Maine. Whether you already drive an EV or are simply curious about making the switch, DEM Chapters are open to the public and welcome anyone interested in learning more about electric transportation.

Drive Electric Western Maine is hosted by the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy (CEBE) in Norway, Maine, and serves communities throughout the region. Along with the Greater Portland Chapter, it organizes and participates in a variety of public events, including EV showcases, ride-and-drive events, educational workshops, community fairs, and National Drive Electric Week celebrations.

Other Ways to get Involved!

If you're interested in getting involved in Maine's electric vehicle community beyond Drive Electric Maine, the Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) of Maine is a statewide community of electric vehicle owners, drivers, and enthusiasts dedicated to accelerating EV adoption across Maine.
As a chapter of the national Electric Vehicle Association, EVA of Maine connects people who are passionate about electric transportation and eager to share their experiences with others.
